Birthday Wishes and Prayers!

Today I had the good fortune to spend time with our daughters who will celebrate their birthdays tomorrow. As you may recall from a previous post, they were born 3 years apart, but on the same day! We thought we might have a chance to have twins because my husband is a twin, but we did not have twins but daughters who share a birthday.

The younger of the 2 and I were reminiscing today about how their birthday seemed to go on for an extended time every year because we would have a party on the weekend nearest their big day with their friends and then usually on the following weekend we would get together with family and in between adult friends would drop by or send a gift to celebrate the uniqueness of their birthdays. She said she was spoiled by all the attention.

If our children were spoiled when they were young it would have been with our time and not with things. We wanted them to know their true worth to us and so we chose to shower them with love and attention.

They both have been such blessings to us and we cherish them. We look forward to seeing them or hearing their voices on the phone or getting a quick email. They have enriched our lives individually and as a married couple. They have been and continue to be at the center of our world next to our relationship with God.

After receiving pedicures or manicures today we enjoyed lunch outdoors at Panera's along with our oldest daughter's husband and children. We are blessed with 2 thoughtful and kind sons-in-law and 2 of the greatest grandchildren ever. Later we enjoyed ice cream birthday cakes!

Our daughters are gifts to us and we've always known that. Happy Birthday Pippi and Debbie Diane!
